Water & Action Sports
Burn off energy and get an adrenaline boost before a breath-taking mountain backdrop
Just a few hundred metres from the Farm Resort, you can tackle the waves in the Schwarzachtal valley, a tributary of the Gerlostal valley. You will abseil through waterfalls and manoeuvre your way across torrents of water. Between the cliffs, crags and overhangs, you will feel like you are in another world.
White water rafting down Wildgerlos brook has it all! You have to be at least 10 years old and know how to swim as you battle your way down the rapids in a dinghy. You can also go rafting in Mayrhofen and in the Imst gorge.
Some people can hardly believe it but Austria’s highest altitude surfing school is situated on the Durchlassboden reservoir at 1,400m! You don’t need to be hardcore to try out surfing or sailing here. In summer, the water is a pleasant 21°C. Bathing and taking out a pedalo or rowing boat are all possible options.
Shaking like a leaf or fearless as Tarzan - how are you likely to handle the largest high ropes garden in Zillertal and the Hohe Tauern? The course presents a challenge throughout. Fantastic: and for the literal come-down, there are 15 zipwire stations! Children can climb on their own course.
On the Gerlossteinwand Alpine fixed ropes course, classed as the most challenging, you will have to use your whole body to tackle the 240m of elevation gain. A helmet, carabiner, gloves and head for heights - got all that? Then we wish you lots of luck in your search for the peak of happiness! You can access the trail via the Gerlosssteinbahn mountain station (45 mins access route). The Riederklamm practice fixed ropes trail with three different routes ranging from 40 to 150m above sea level.
Experience the Zillertal Arena from above - it could be the highlight of your mountain holiday! You can set off from Gerlos, Köngisleiten or Zell am Ziller - even from the age of 5! Depending on your chosen starting point, you can glide up to an altitude of 1,150m like an eagle.
The new zipwires at the Riederklamm Climbing Garden are not for the faint-hearted! You will race down 200m over trees and the gorge at 50 km/h. Up to 80m separate you from the sturdy ground below. Pure adrenaline!
